On the island of La Digue, the fourth largest in the Seychelles, you can take a circular route to go up to the Nid d'Aigle.
The actual path starts from the Belle Vue area but, if you don't take a taxi, you have to climb up there along a steeply uphill concrete road.
From the town to the start of the trail it takes about 40 minutes.
The path at the beginning has high steps to climb with the help of the handrail. At the crossroads, continue right on the most popular route.
The path always climbs between dense vegetation and boulders and, after a point where an iron ladder is positioned, you come across other boulders.
The last stretch is on a very steep smooth rock.
This way you reach the summit, after about 25 minutes from the start of the path. from where you can admire the town and the islands of Praslin and Curieuse in front.
On this plateau you are immersed in typical vegetation full of blooms.
On the way back, in order not to follow the same route, we go in the direction of Roche Baie.
After the flat stretch, the descent begins which offers a beautiful view of the Grand Soeur, Petite Soeur and Felicitè islands.
At the crossroads you should not go towards Roche Baie, unless you want to reach that panoramic point, but go downhill on the path which becomes steeper.
The only point to pay attention to is the one on some boulders.
Having rediscovered the path taken on the outward journey, you descend onto the road to return to the village.
