Itinerary description

Day 13. Ballycumber Hill 431m, Seskin Hill 344m,  Lakeen 357m and Stookeen 420m.

On many of the peak bagging/outdoor websites I perused for this trip I noted there were very few route descriptions regarding ascents of the lesser known Irish Marilyns. This also applied to the availability of gpx files. I will therefore add relevant information and files that hopefully will provide assistance to future hikers/peakbaggers.

Seskin Hill 344m, South Wicklow, Eire (Marilyn).
Seskin is just  NW of Shillelagh in Southern Wicklow. It is a forested hill and the start point is at the end of a forest track on a back road. Now there is very little parking here and room for one car only.
Now the route is on forest track and starts in a long loop that goes around to the East and then back West. Now I expected on my up route to turn SE onto another track (Harvey Map) but the forest track turned out to be more of a slender firebreak/gap. It is quite indistinct and I initially walked past it. It is however totally passible and the top plateau was soon gained and then there was the shortish boggy undulating walk SW to the summit area which was not marked by anything. I tried an alternative return leg and it was more of a forest track than not and I would say this is the best route up and down but both ways are passable. Quite decent views are to be had on the way up at places.

Parking: Room for 1 car at forest entrance.
Route: Forest track, forest path, boggy track and no summit marker. Quite decent views at times.
Statistics:7.8km hike with 284m of heigh gain done in 1 hour 45 minutes.
Maps: Outdoor Active digital Harveys/Irish Topo.
