Itinerary description
The top part of the mountain around Soechon shelter was very difficult to walk in early November due to ice on the ground. But starting at Huiungak shelter the path through the valley was easy to follow.
My advice: start early from Sokcho (or even Seoul) and walk from the main entrance to Huiungak shelter. Spend the night there and return to the entrance via the ridge (should be tough but navigable path). Other option: go via Daecheongbong peak and exit the park from Osaek where there are buses back top Sokcho or Seoul. Jungcheng shelter would be best option for this, best to avoid Soechong as it is less conveniently located.
Remember that for all shelters you need to book in advance. Also being all the food with you, as they offer only rice and chocolate
