Itinerary description

This is the back approach to Soeraksan National Park. In honesty, I found the trail to be disappointing, however if you want to take this route - well here it is. Views were mediocre and early November, trees were already devoid of leaves. There was ice on the ground which in some instances made walking tough if not dangerous. Take this route another time!

You need to reserve a place in one of the shelters in advance, (Jungcheong is better but Socheong is also possible) and take the 7:30 or 8:30 morning bus from Seoul to Hangyeryeon. Be sure to begin hiking before 11:00! There is no food and water on the trail and the shelters (6-7 hours from the starting point) sell only water, rice and chocolate. There is a restaurant at the entrance, but it is better to bring food from Seoul.
