Rio de los Horcajos
This is probably the nicest walk in Tolox.
The walk starts from the parking area next to the spa of Fuente Amargosa towards the Alto de la Cuesta. At some stage we will turn into the lane of the Puerto de las Golondrinas, past the hotel Cerro de Hijar. From this point the view opens to the valley of the river of Horcajos and the main peaks of the Parque Natural Sierra de las Nieves. There are cork oaks, chestnut trees and Pinsapos along the route. Then we start a steepish decline until reaching the arroyo de los Sauces, one of the main tributaries. Eventually leading to the chapel Virgen de las Nieves, adjacent a recreational picnic area. You return through the village where there are one or two bars.
