Sendero De La Laguna Amarga - Reserva Natural (Lucena)

Este corto sendero se encuentra ubicado en una reserva natural y contempla un paseo entorno a laguna Amarga (258 ha.) y Dulce (262,52 ha.). En cuanto a la laguna Amarga, su principal característica es la elevada cantidad de sulfato de magnesio presente en sus aguas, de ahí el nombre que recibe. Nos sorprenderá el contraste cromático de ésta, de un azul intenso, y la Laguna Dulce, muy próxima y pese a ello de tonos mucho más cálidos.; el agua les llega de forma subterránea, aunque también se nutren de agua de escorrentía y de lluvias. En el paisaje que ofrecen las lagunas, se contempla vegetación palustre, con formaciones características de esta como, carrizo, taraje, enea, castañuela, y caña. Los alrededores ofrecen un bello panorama de olivares, junto a matorral mediterráneo. En cuanto a la fauna, lo más destacable son las aves, ya que el lugar constituye el hábitat para algunas de ellas, y zona de paso en la ruta migratoria, para otras. Relevantes entre estas son, tanto el calamón, como la malvasía, ambas catalogadas "en peligro de extinción".

This short trail is located in a nature reserve and overlooks the landscape of two lakes known as Amarga (258 ha.) and Dulce (262.52 ha.), or bitter and sweet respectively. The principal characteristic of the Laguna Amarga is the high level of magnesium sulphate present in the water, hence its name. There is a surprising contrast between the intense blue of this lake and the Laguna Dulce close by, the colour of which despite its proximity is a much warmer blue; the lakes are fed by underground springs as well as run-off and rain water. The landscape around the lakes offers vegetation typical of marshland, with varieties including canes, tamarisk, rushes, sedge and reeds. The surroundings offer a pretty panorama of olive trees bordering Mediterranean scrubland. The most obvious fauna is birdlife, since the site forms a natural habitat for some species and a temporary habitat for other species on their migration route. Among the latter it is worth mentioning the purple swamp hen and white-headed duck, both of which are categorised as endangered species.
