Sendero Caucón – Tajo de la Caína
This sendero starts from the Luis Ceballos Mirador and parking area. It’s a great hike and worth the extra drive to get to Yunquera.
The path to the Mirador is narrow in places for the width of 2 cars which could be a problem at weekends and bank holidays, when it would be busier with walkers. So l would recommend coming here during week days.
The route goes through one of the largest Pinsapo forests in Europe, and probably the world.
The first section, when we dropped down into the valley, the temperature also dropped a lot, so l would recommend bringing warm clothes / windbreak.
Arriving at the first main intersection - Era de los Gamones (I couldn’t see the threshing floor), you make your way to a small Mirador, then in the opposite direction you go to the main Mirador looking over Torrecilla and Tajo de la Caína (where we continued to where the sheep were grazing).
From here you make your way through El Helechal until you get to an intersection where you turn left, eventually crossing Arroyo de los Zarrazalones (dry) where you begin a 200m steepish climb on your right. This is the hardest part of the walk, which will finally bring you back to the start.
A relly great hike. Phone reception in the area is bad, so l would recommend you don’t do this walk on your own.

Ruta fácil y entorno maravilloso, hacía 20 años que no íbamos por la zona por lo mal que estaba el acceso con vehículos hasta el mirador y ahora lo han arreglado un poco. Seguiremos yendo para realizar mas rutas.
