At the beginning we go from the trail parking lot a piece into the valley until we meet a small bridge on the left and cross this to get to the opposite edge of the forest. On this leads the monument green ditch along which accompanied with its very good path to us through the Schwarzwassertal. Along the ditch along you get the impression through the now increasing height difference to the valley that the water flows uphill. At regular intervals you meet beautiful seating areas, and the rugged gneiss offer wonderful views of the Schwarzwassertal. Arriving at the first lookout point (the Katzenstein), you can strengthen yourself with a beautiful view or return to the only 5 minutes away Katzenschänke, where our trail leads directly past. Now it goes on into the village down to the visitor mine. After that you walk a bit on the Aspahlt towards B171. Arrived at the end of the village, before the railway bridge, turn right again onto a forest track that runs parallel to the railroad tracks until you reach the sawmill in Kniebreche. After the sawmill, keep right onto Schwarzwassertalstraße. Only a small piece and it's back on a very nice trail at the edge of the forest on the black Pockau along. From here you can reach a beautiful elevated viewing platform (the Stiftskanzel) to rest via a nature trail then branching off to the left. Now the nature trail leads back down into the valley on our well-developed road. The path now changes several times the valley sides and you run past the Katzenstein below. After a few kilometers of beautiful heathland we reach again our starting point the trail parking lot in Kühnhaide.
