Itinerary description
Bagging Scar Ridge is often feared by the hiking community. It is rather thick in some spots, with lots of spruce traps in the winter. However, the ski slopes are pretty easy hiking and they offer wonderful views to the North. How many other bushwhacks feature nice views?
Also, the bushwhacking section struck me as easier than it was the last time I was up there. Lots of herd paths are getting worn in, so the tough part becomes negotiating the new blowdowns.
Finally, Hike it with friends, because how many bushwhacks feature a ski lodge in the middle, where one can enjoy a celebratory, chilled, malt beverage (Thanks Tom!).
