Itinerary description

Short hike started by a short but technical ascent. This part is not easy as the ground mainly consists of unstable stones of all sizes. Be careful where to put your feet and please don't get close to each other as falling stones can be dangerous for those who follow.
Up there, take on left to reach the ridge where you can enjoy the beautiful view over akoura, afqa, nahr ibrahim and part of jabal moussa. The road on the ridge is marked and easy to follow.
All the way you will pass by a church (St John) graved in the rocks, St John's stone and the cross on top of the hill the highest point of this hike.
From that point, start by going down to reach the church of Saydet El habes and after the 700+ down stairs will lead you to the main road from which we took our way back to the starting point.

Overall beautiful hike, moderate difficulty except the first short ascent.
Hike Poles mandatory because of steep up/down.

Do your duty to keep nature a beauty and always be kind to everything that lives :)

There is no trail technically, even experienced hikers can’t find a way to walk.

hi Emilio, the first half kilometer there is no path to follow. This was included in the description
You should have followed the direction and I am sure you will find your way up.
Sometimes you don't need to stick to your GPS signal )

Hello Carl, heading to akoura now, is the location points exactly to where i need to start the hike? And is there any additional info I might need as directions? (hiking alone) :) thank you

Hi Maya, look for the slope where you can find stones ( photo 8 labeled as middle of the ascent )
However you should find your own way at the beginning to reach that slope. once on top of it you will find the footpath on the ridge at your left. Happy hike day ))
    take care
