Itinerary description
I've done this trek before, but this time I finished it at Manga near the Murree Toll Plaza instead of the Main GT Road of Murre near Nandkot.
The trek starts near Lawrence College in Murree (Ghora Gali). It's a path that government officials, especially from the forest department, use for inspections.
From Lawrence College, walk down for about 1.5 kilometers. Currently, a road is under construction, but you'll need to leave the road and follow the trek called SHT. The path is marked with arrows to help people stay on track. To get to Lawrence College, you can take a taxi from Manga. Aqil has a Mehran Car and charges a reasonable fee for his service. You can reach him at +92 316 1708654.
The trek takes you into a forest with lots of pine trees, offering beautiful views of the valley. Keep going downhill until you reach the end of the trek and a mettled road intersection. Go straight, and you'll be back on the trek. After a while, you'll come across a house. Try passing it on the left side to stay on the trail, which leads to Nandkot village. Descend through the forest until you find a shepherd's house. You might need to navigate a tricky and bushy pass, around 30 meters, to get back on the trek. Here, you'll find a water source to refill your water. Note that this is the only water source on the trail. If you go left, you'll reach Phari, and if you go right, you'll reach Manga. Both places eventually connect to the main express highway of Murree.
To return to the main city, you can hitchhike. There are plenty of public transportation options from this place. Ideally, it's more logistically convenient to go downhill.
