Campo Base del Everest
Localizados a 5360 metros el Campo Base Sur (South Base Camp) (28°0′26″N 86°51′34″E) y el Campo Base Norte (North Base Camp) (28°8′28″N 86°51′6″E) son zonas de acampada rudimentarias situadas en las laderas del Monte
Everest que son usadas por los escaladores durante su ascensión y posterior descenso. El Campo Base Sur está en Nepal y es utilizado cuando se toma la vía sureste para realizar la escalada, mientras que el Norte se encuentra en Tíbet y se utiliza cuando se utiliza la vía noreste.
El Campo Base Sur es abastecido por sherpas o porteadores ayudados por animales de carga, por lo general los Bos mutus o yaks. El Campamento Base Norte tiene el acceso de vehículos (al menos en los meses de verano.
