Itinerary description
A picturesque hike to the summit of Cerro Zotolo. The hike begins in the village of Tetela de Ocampo at elevation 1700 m. Then it goes along a winding mountain dirt road up to a tiny village Tatzalán at 2500 m. From there the route cuts off the road and goes up the summit through a mountain forest. In total it's 12 km distance, 1300 m elevation change, and up to 4 hours time in moderate pace. That's one way—double it to get back to Tetela.
