Itinerary description
A fine walk to discover the south-western area of Ireon (Ηραιο). It starts at the southern end of the village. Follow the signs to Varda (Βαρδα). Its a white chapel along the road. Continue the walk uphill. When you come to a road sign, follow the dirt-road to Pano Kyriakou (Πανο Κυριακου) . Where the road ends, look carefully for an almost hidden track down. Finally you will enter an olive-tree yard and a ruined house. Find your way down zigzagging the walls until a small track down appears. Finally you will reach the secluded beach. For the way back: walk up the bedding of a stream until it becomes a road. From there route-finding is easy to return to Ireon.
Note: The descent to the beach from the point where the road ends, is described on many maps as a footpath. However, it is hardly visible and not used by walkers recently, on places it looks more like a overgrown goat track. This is the difficult part of the way.
