Itinerary description
heading north from Jebel Jibir, the area is surprisingly populated! After the 2nd village you drop down into a Wadi and then have a tough scramble out on the north side to be a short hike across open mountain side to Samarat, a great place to camp. This day one took us about 5 hours. Next morning the route back is easier, going east into Oman before curving back to the mountain in only 3 hours.
The difficulty is linked to the overnight, a 20kg pack makes a huge difference. If you tried the route in one day it might only be 'difficult' but it would be pretty long.
