Itinerary description
This trail combines both the upper trail leading to the Huggins Ruins and the lower trail leading to the ammunition bunkers. The trail to the Ruins of the old plantation home climbs the ridge behind the house, it can be quite difficult to follow at first, but soon joins a much wider and well define trail which is marked by red 'fusion'markers hanging from trees. The fusion trail can be followed to the top of the ridge where it joins the North Coast Trail. At this point a good view of the ocean can be had by leaving the trail a short distance. Returning down the same way but following the better define 'fusion' trail leads to a river bed trail and then to the ammunition bunkers and finally back to the same starting point and the car park at Samaan Historical Park.
