Itinerary description
A route that starts from the monastery of Agios Ioannis Richtis to the homonymous beach. The descent of the mountain starts next to the ravine from the beginning of the hike and great care is required because the slope is very steep and the ground is slippery. There is no clear or marked path, but the safest way to make the descent is to move next to the wire fence and hold it so that you have balance. When you get close enough to the shore, the fence ends and the slope is somewhat normalized. Here the path becomes clearer and downhill, you can see on the left a small spring with running water that ends at the sea. The beach is just to our right in our field of vision. The descent, however, was difficult because the last rock had a steep slope, and on the other hand the small waterfall made the point quite slippery. If you want to get down to the point, be very careful. The return is done by climbing from the exact same point, holding the fence for greater convenience and safety.

Dear Michalis & Anna, it seems you have hiked both “Agios Ioannis Richtis” and “Agios Ioannis Maktis”. In your opinion which is the nicest for the hike and which is nicest for the beach/sea? 🙏🏻
Dear Fabio, The nicest and easiest also hike, is for the hike for "Agios Ioannis Makris".
Thanks a lot, will try it in two days then!
I hiked both and found them both amazing but Makris is my favourite the beach is stunning. Thanks Michalis for the posting the hikes!
