Itinerary description
Hike through the villages towards Bertrand de Comminges and back..
Small parking area at the bottom of the village by the bridge..take the road up through the village of Thebe..continue down to the D925 ..take right up hill to village of Troubat..small village and church..stay on the road and this leads down to Gembrie..another small village ..all of which are on the east side of the river L,Ours...Nice views across to Pic de Cau..
Stay straight here as no signs..arriving at village of Anla..take right and left and signs now for Izaourt..nice village and church with rest area and river..Take right over the bridge and pass through of village towards the roundabout junction for Sarp..signs now for Saint Bertran ..Road is straight here ..then take right lane for the church of Basilique Saint Just ( Valcabrere)..beautiful old church..think you have to pay for entry...leave the church and head left..Saint bertran can not be missed as stand high up between the hills..great views..past a camping ground and arrive at Le Plan at base ..here i continued to the old Roman ruins for rest and take in the views..head back to Le Plan and follow GR78 signs past the stream and up many steps to Saint Bertrand..
Return ..i followed same route back towards Izaourt ..but the stayed on road ..leading to the old rail way track..here follow the cycle path along side the river.. Pic de Burat in the distance..cross the line just after Bertrand village ..back on the road until Bagiry..at the phone box book swop take right and this leads to Siridan....right here towards Cazarilh but take left at the small bridge..up steep lane and small track after the house on right ..muddy path ..that arrives back at the parking Thebe
