Itinerary description
You have to drive about 14 miles of gravel road to get to the trailhead for this hike. At the trailhead, there's a dispersed camping area with no tables, water, or toilet, but some great views. The trail, which starts in the Kaibab NF and then crosses into Grand Canyon NP, is fairly rough, but not too difficult until you reach the junction with the unmaintained Nankoweap Trail, which drops down into the canyon. I ventured only a short distance on the Nankoweap, until I concluded that it was too sketchy for me.
