A very easy route around Emerald Lake. It does not have any unevenness with what is very easy. The first half of the route is in perfect condition, and along the way you will find benches to sit on to enjoy the tranquility and, above all, the views.

It seemed strange to us that with the people we met at the beginning, few of them make this route so simple, they stay at the beginning in the area where the typical photo of Emerald is.

In fact, this first part can be done with a baby stroller, but when we reach the bottom, a gravel track begins until we cross the bridge.

For us, the part that we liked the most is the one farthest from the port, from where the rest of the treks depart. There you will find another bank and we loved it. In addition, with the sun that was, we stayed there for a long time enjoying the area.

Once over the bridge, we went to the foot of the mountain in the forest and the path becomes a path that gets very damaged, well, it really isn't difficult, it's just mud.

When we went it was muddy and some areas were difficult to overcome without getting dirty if you went without proper footwear. From this side you also have views of the beautiful lake, although on the side where we had the sun we liked the other one better.

We finished the track walking between the houses of the Emerald Lake Lodge Hotel contemplating the area and thinking how nice it must be to spend the night in the area and wake up first thing in the morning with the sun in this area. They also have an area prepared to spend the night with a bonfire under the stars.

Although it is not part of the track at the beginning of you can rent canoes to enjoy the lake from another point of view and although it is not cheap it is cheaper than in other lakes and in our opinion it is very worth it.

You can see more entries about the Canadian Rockies in our travel blog. Here you can see the guide to the Rockies . Soon we will publish the entry regarding Emerald.
