Ruta del Desayuno No. 7
Puerto de los Pescadores – Arroyo el Tejar.
This is an extended version of Ruta No. 6
This is a lovely semi linear walk with about 60% shade. A little hidden gem that I have used many times, sometimes using it to make up circular walks in the area.
You get some lovely panoramic views of the La Mota castle, Sierra Alpujata, Sierra Cabrilla, Sierra Prieta and Sierra Alcarapain.
The walk meanders all the way to the large pine tree at the junction with Camino El Tejar (that goes up to La Bola).
From here go down and take the arroyo del Tejar path all the way to the quarry and finally to the large boulders.
It is a steady uphill climb and the whole circuit is a good workout. Making your way back to the large tree, take the wide gravel path back to the start.
The arroyo was teaming with thousands of butterflies which was a please to walk through them. There was not a lot of shade in the arroyo.
This is a good pre breakfast workout of about 2 hours.
Then you can make your way down to La Ventilla for refreshments if you like.
