Itinerary description

This is a classic route. We didn't reach the end of the track (Los canarios) as it was a really hot day. In fact, the day after there was a fire in that area. The start point is the Natural Park of El Pilar (BBQ and picnic available). Leave the car and start walking. The first part of the route is through a pine forest and is shadowed but good things end and the landscape becomes volcanic after a while. The view down at the Black Hole is impressive. As we didn't reach Los Canarios we walked back to our car without the need of hiring a taxi at Los Canarios. However, after the walk, we drove down to Los Canarios to the San Antonio Vulcano Visitors Centre. It's worth the visit but it is much better to have lunch at a restaurant close to the Visitors Centre (1 minute walking). The restaurant is La Casa del Volcán (open 12:00 to 21:30, Mondays closed)
