🇪🇸 Español: Ruta circular de 11km por los 6 picos de la Calderona y la casa del Dragón, en la localidad de Gilet (Valencia).

Desde Valencia, Gilet está a unos 20km. Al inicio de la ruta, hay un amplio aparcamiento público, gratuito durante todo el año excepto los fines de semana entre Semana Santa y Mayo, que cobran 2.5€. La razón es que hay un amplio merendero con paellero y durante esta temporada se llena mucho los fines de semana. Antes de llegar al aparcamiento público, hay sitios para aparcar también por un lado de la carretera. Es lo que hicimos nosotros.

Durante el recorrido subiremos 6 picos seguidos, todos con sus únicas vistas panorámicas. La ruta es bastante fácil de seguir, gracias a las indicaciones y marcas.

Para subir al primer pico, hay que desviarse del camino y coger la senda donde hay una cruz marcada. Nosotros seguimos el camino normal hasta darnos cuenta que nos equivocamos. Aconsejamos seguir bien el track para evitar el mismo error. Vale la pena subir este primer pico ya que, según nuestra opinión, es él que tiene las mejores vistas.

Antes de subir el sexto y último pico, pasaremos por delante de la famosa casa del Dragón. Hoy en día está cerrada pero se puede disfrutar de su singular arquitectura por fuera.

Es una ruta preciosa, recomendable para todos los amantes de la montaña. No es apta para todos y requiere cierta condición física. Además las bajadas están empinadas y hay que tener cuidado para evitar caídas.

🇺🇸 English: This is a circular route of 11km through 6 peaks of the Sierra Calderona and passing by the house of the Dragon, in the town of Gilet (Valencia).

From Valencia, Gilet is about 20km away. At the start of the route, there is a large public parking lot, free all year round except on weekends between Easter and May, when there is a charge of 2.5€. The reason is that there is a large picnic area with barbecue and during this period it gets very crowded on weekends. Before reaching the public parking, there are also places to park on one side of the road. This is what we did.

During the route we will hike up 6 peaks in a row, all with their unique panoramic views. The route is quite easy to follow, thanks to the signs and markings.

To climb the first peak, you have to turn off the road and take the path where there is a marked cross. We follow the normal path until we realize that we made a mistake. We advise you to follow the track to avoid the same mistake. It is worth climbing this first peak because, in our opinion, it is the one with the best views.

Before climbing the sixth and last peak, we will pass in front of the famous Dragon's house. Today it is closed but you can enjoy its unique architecture from the outside.

It is a beautiful route, recommended for all mountain lovers. It is not suitable for everyone and requires a certain physical condition. In addition, the descents are steep and care must be taken to avoid falls.
