La plaza de Benalauría

SPA El comienzo de la ruta nos llevará a la plaza de Benalauría, donde su imponente jardín y el edificio que alberga el Ayuntamiento son los principales protagonistas. Continuaremos por la calle que ves en la imagen. ENG The beginning of the trail will take us to the Plaza de Benalauría, where its imposing garden and the building that houses the Town Hall are the main protagonists. We will continue along the street that you see in the image.

La Iglesia de Benalauría

SPA Continuaremos nuestro camino por una de las calles aledañas a la Iglesia. ENG We will continue our way through one of the streets near the Church.

El bosque de Castaños, el Bosque de Cobre

ESP Nuestra ruta nos trae hasta el famoso bosque de cobre. Un entorno natural con él castaño como protagonista absoluto. La mejor estampa puede disfrutarse durante los meses de otoño, desde octubre hasta diciembre, meses en los que tiene lugar la recogida de la castaña. Finalizando la campaña de recogida de castañas, todos los arboles tiñen sus hojas de colores otoñales anaranjados, marrones y ocres, cubriendo la montaña de una preciosa postal otoñal. En este punto es importante saber que NO ESTÁ PERMITIDO COGER CASTAÑAS DE FINCAS PRIVADAS. Muchas economías familiares del Valle del Genal se mantienen gracias a la recolección de castañas. Podrás comprar castañas en el pueblo a buen precio. ENG Our trail brings us to the famous copper forest. A natural environment with the chestnut tree as the absolute protagonist. The best picture can be enjoyed during the autumn months, from October to December, when the chestnut harvest takes place. At the end of the chestnut harvesting campaign, all the trees dye their autumn leaves in orange, brown and ocher, covering the mountain with a beautiful autumn postcard. At this point it is important to know that IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO COLLECT CHESTNUTS FROM PRIVATE FARMS. Many family economies in the Genal Valley are maintained thanks to the collection of chestnuts. You can buy chestnuts in town at a good price.

Cruce 3: continúa por la izquierda

SPA Continuaremos por el sendero de la izquierda que comenzará a descender. ENG We will continue along the path on the left that will begin to descend.

Verja 1

SPA Nos encontramos en el punto más importante de la ruta. ¡Hemos llegado al pueblo de Algatocín!. En este punto tienes dos opciones: -Continuar por la izquierda y hacer una pequeña ruta para conocer este precioso pueblo. (Recomendado) -Continuar por la derecha y regresar a Benalauría. Nuestra ruta está trazada para hacer el recorrido por los mejores rincones de Algatocín. ¿Te animas? ENG We are at the most important point on the trail. We have reached the town of Algatocín! At this point you have two options: -Continue to the left and make a small route to get to know this beautiful town. (Recommended) -Continue to the right and return to Benalauría. Plaza de Algatocín

SPA Nos encontramos en el centro del pueblo. Una preciosa plaza rodeada por bares, tiendas y establecimientos. Quizá sea un buen momento para tomar algo y disfrutar de la gastronomía local. También podrás encontrar algunas tiendas de alimentación y productos locales. ENG We are in the center of town. A beautiful square surrounded by bars, shops and establishments. It may be a good time to have a drink and enjoy the local cuisine. You can also find some grocery stores and local products.

Cruce 13: continuamos por un callejón escondido.

SPA Presta atención a este punto. Vamos a continuar por un callejón que a primera vista no se ve. Si miras la fotografía verás que la flecha señala el lugar exacta. Dirígete hasta ahí para continuar. Horno público de Algatocín

Iglesia de Algatocín

ESP La Iglesia de Algatocín es una de las más conocidas del Valle del Genal. Tu original campanario la hace única y es una de las estampas más conocidas de la zona. Frente a la iglesia encontramos una fuente de agua potable. ENG The Church of Algatocín is one of the best known in the Genal Valley. Cruce 15: Continúa por la derecha.

Cruce importante

SPA Volvemos a encontrarnos en el lugar donde iniciamos el paseo por las calles de Algatocín. Para regresar a Benalauría tendrás que continuar recto. No te desvíes hacia la derecha. Aunque en las flechas se indique qué ese camino conduce a Benalauría, se trata del mismo camino que hemos realizado para llegar hasta aquí. Continúa de frente para llegar a Benalauría por otro sendero diferente y mas rápido. ENG We meet again at the place where we started the walk through the streets of Algatocín. To return to Benalauría you will have to continue straight. Do not deviate to the right. Although the arrows indicate which path leads to Benalauría, it is the same path that we have traveled to get here. Continue straight ahead to reach Benalauría by a different and faster path.

Cruce 19: Continúa por la izquierda

Increíbles visitas al Valle del Genal

SPA Este pequeño mirador es el punto desde donde tendrás las mejores vistas de toda la ruta. Ante ti, las montañas del Genal. ENG This small viewpoint is the point from where you will have the best views of the entire route. Before you, the mountains of Genal.

Cruce 20: Continúa recto.

SPA Continúa recto por la zona asfaltada. Estamos acercándonos a un tramo de carretera. ENG Continue straight through the paved area. We are approaching a stretch of road.

Cruce 21: comienza el tramo de carretera

SPA La última parte de la ruta es por carretera. Recuerda que es importante caminar por el lado izquierdo. ENG The last part of the trail is by road. Remember that it is important to walk on the left side.
