Itinerary description
More than half of the path is the same to go to Krnica or to the Russian chapel.
Right before the starting point there are places where to leave the car. Waypoint 1 shows the road to the left where the hike starts.
At the beginning of the trail there are two water flows to cross, be careful during winter because it is icy, but with an attentive look it's easy to choose safer spots where to cross.
Waypoint 3 is the crossroads where to decide if you want to go to Krnica retreat (left) or to the Russian chapel (right): both arriving points are reached in around 1 hour in total.
If you go for the chapel, keep in mind that the last bit of the trail is the steepest. And watch out during winter that the stairs climbing up to the chapel are covered by ice; it's safer to walk in the fresh snow.
On the way back I followed the asphalt road until waypoint 7, to avoid the steepest part downhill in the snow.

3 CROSSROADS: right to the chapel, left Krnica
The path to Krnica will bring you to a very warm retreat, where to have hot dishes and beverages. There's a big stove inside, which will be helpful to try clothes if needed.

5 Tiny bit on asphalt
You only have to go around this turn on the asphalt road, then you'll spot the yellow sign to Vršič, which brings you back onto the path.
