Manzwine
Manzwine is a wine producer from the Oeste region, founded in the 1980s after the discovery of a forgotten vineyard believed to be extinct. Since then, the Manzwine project has been growing, contributing to the recovery and revitalization of the history and traditions in the village of Cheleiros. Here, we can enjoy fine wine while admiring the landscapes of the valley.
Ponte Romana de Cheleiros
This bridge consists of a single perfect arch, indicating signs of an initial Roman construction. However, the current structure dates back to the medieval period, possibly around the 13th/14th centuries. Listed as a Property of Public Interest.
Cruzeiro Manuelino de Cheleiros
Built in the 14th century, it was commissioned by the Ataíde family. The base is octagonal, and the cross is adorned with vegetal relief decorations.
Rio Lizandro
This is the longest river in the municipality of Mafra. It has a length of about 57 km. It originates in Venda do Pinheiro and flows into Ericeira, specifically at Foz do Lizandro beach. Its main tributaries include the Carrasqueira, Vale Figueira, Lage, and Pequeno rivers.
Lexim Windmills
This waypoint is abandoned. However, it's a perfect spot to take some incredible photos of the landscape and to take a break.
Penedo do Lexim
Considered one of the best geological sites in the Lisbon region due to the abundance of basalt, this is an ancient volcanic chimney, approximately 72 million years old. This site is part of the Lisbon volcanic complex and also holds archaeological value due to evidence of Neolithic and Roman populations. It is classified as a Property of Public Interest.
Mata Pequena Village
This village is a small rural settlement where one lives in communion with nature and breathes pure air. The restored houses are small and rustic, yet very welcoming. Details reminiscent of a rural past are visible in the decoration of the streets and houses, evoking memories for those who experienced this past in their childhood.
