Itinerary description
From Kamp-Bornhofen we took the signposted Rheinsteig track from the Forststrasse which leads you through the Woods to open fields with beautiful views all around you near a small settlement with the Wanderhütte am Rheinsteig. The views are extensive and as the Rhine makes some beautiful bends here you can see all the way to the Stadtwald of Koblenz with its characteristic tall white tower.
We followed a track across the extensive fields with views all around until we were close to the Rheinsteig track that comes from the Filsener Ley and followed this track back to Kamp-Bornhofen. This is a very nice part of the walk as you have wonderful views of the river and all thge hills and much has been done to make this track attractuive for walkers. There are quiet a few panels which tell you about the wildlife and vegetation of this region.
