Bukovina is a historical region of Eastern Europe, located in the northeastern foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, politically divided between two countries, Ukraine (Chernivtsi Oblast) and Romania (Suceava District). Its total extension is approximately 10,000 km².
Bucovina is located in the northeast of Romania and is contiguous to the north with Ukraine; to the west you would reach Maramures; to the east it has Moldovan neighbors, while to the south it borders Transylvania.
ITINERARY DESCRIPTION:
We left walking from our accommodation. Our path, simple but long, will take us to the town of Slatioara, through a beautiful forest and farm fields for which we cross private properties.
Arrival in Slatioara, a small town where we will take a break in the canteen, enlivening the snack with a cool drink.
From there, we have a 3 km stretch of asphalt road to get closer to the Codrul Secular Slatioara Nature Reserve, where a primeval forest is still preserved.
Back to Slatioara after the picnic to connect with a track that leads us back to our starting point.
