From Sarande, where we are staying these days, we head south, approximately 25 km. In the direction of the border with Greece, to the Butrint National Park, which includes Lake Butrint and the Vivari channel that connects the lake with the Ionian Sea, in a complicated network of canals, rivers, lagoons and lakes, which make it difficult to know by where you ride, unless you can see it from a drone.
There we can visit the ruins of Butrinto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992, and one of the largest archaeological sites in Albania, with some first settlements dating from the 8th century BC.
