Itinerary description
Next to the monastery we hiked through a beautiful apple orchard through a beautiful forest along the Nistru River to then reach the monastery not so easy.to find.
In 1777, near the Dniester, the stone church of the Holy Trinity was built on the estate of Teodor and Andronache Rudea from where it got the name. 1828 it was transformed into a nuns monastery. In 1846, the monastery was abandoned and fell into ruin. During the period of Great Romania the monastery was rebuild, In 1939 a second church was consecrated. In 1948 with the begin of the soviet time the monastery was closed again and a children's hospital was established. The Church of the Holy Trinity became a warehouse. 1992 the Rudi Monastery reopened.
