Itinerary description
Stunning walk up and down Rouvas Gorge, one of the classic Cretan hikes. Trail conditions vary, and includes quite a bit of navigating through and across boulders on the Canyon floor. There are also extensive sections with sheer drops to the side. As you near the end, the environment changes significantly as you enter the forest zone and the valley levels put, so you are effectively walking along a quiet stream.
We did this walk in early june and was quite hot, so probably not recommended in mid summer. Also whilst we had blue skies and blazing sunshine at the start, it started rai i g and rained quite heavily in the forest section, this was quite pleasant however, but you may want to check weather/bring waterproofs in case
Thoroughly recommend this hike.
