Itinerary description
Half of this trail is unmarked. Starting point is on Hveradalir car park. You have to go down to Hveradalir hot springs, turn left and follow the marked trail to Kerling. After 200 m you turn left to unmarket path which is going paralelly with the river on the left side. On the end of the ridge you have to climb down nearby the place where two creeks are merge to one. There are the next hot springs. Cross the river and after that you have to climp up 550 m on altitude directly to Snaekollur summit. Before the first summit, Fannborg, you will see the normal trail (and you can use it for way down). Continue one km and you will reach the Snaekollur summit.

Thanks for sharing this track! We have done it on Sep 12 2020 with fastastic wheather. As hiking trails ins Iceland are not very well signaled, this track was very helpful. What a great and scenic hike!
