Itinerary description
This is a nice hike to do if you're in the area. It's a popular tourist destination. You can get to the start point by public transport and then take the gondola down to public transport again from the finish point.
After a very easy walk along the beach for a few kilometres (you can lengthen this part of the hike and start further away from Arthur's Seat), you then you need to go up. There is a fairly steep ascent at first, but the trail is well developed, with steps in the steepest parts. It will definitely get you heart rate up and you will feel like you've done your exercise for the day!
Once you get to the sea breeze picnic area you will understand why it has that name. We stopped here for lunch.
I found the next part of the hike, to King's falls, the most enjoyable - less people, more of a sense of being in the bush and a nice mix of ups and downs with nothing too strenuous.
King's Falls themselves have a decent drop but are not huge by any means - I have been told there is sometimes no water. It's still a nice walk regardless.
We finished at the gondola cafe.
The hike is on the lands of the Bunurong people of the Kulin nation.
Enjoy!
