Itinerary description
Wonderfully quiet area for a walk with a number of highlights, especially if you like walking along lakes and wetlands.
The Rondven, Zwarte Goor ven, Langven and Patersmoer lakes are great to enjoy on foot because of the beautiful and often extended views.
The track combines wooded areas with open moors and meadows, but also tree-lined paths.
All in all, a recommendable trail in a perhaps forgotten corner in the south of the Netherlands near the Belgian border. Hence the name of the cafe / restaurant Het Smokkelaartje (The Smuggler) and a well signposted path called Smokkelroute (the smuggle trail), which is only 7 kms long if you prefer a shorter track.

Idd een mooie route. Prachtige omgeving, alleen momenteel zijn laarzen of waterdichte schoenen geen overbodige luxe 😊
