Itinerary description
This is a beautiful walk that starts at Camping "El Sur" but you can also pick up the trail at Ronda. You can find the trail I based myself on also on https://nl.wikiloc.com/routes-wandelen/ronda-planilla-montejaque-benaojan-abanico-encinas-borrachas-pilar-de-cartajima-planilla-16189230 . But that one shows an accumulated elevation of nearly 2700 m. This figure cannot be right and it might discourage people to do this track. In reality you should count on about 1300 m. I had to pass some private property and climb a tall metal gate not far from the artificial lake (see picture) to continue.
Especially the Tajo del Abanico and its river valley are breathtaking. In Benaoján (and also in Montejaque if you go slightly off the trail) there are places for a drink and something to eat.
