Itinerary description
Really beautiful but challenging walk on the peninsula of Rodopos (Creete) taken from the Rother Guide Creete (track 2).
A sometimes tough walk over mule tracks facing deep abysses, rewards you with astonishing views over the Bay of Kissamos. It's not touristic at all. We never met anyone during this hike. Though you will be accompanied by goats quite often.
The little village Rodopos is the starting and ending point.

I did this in June 2017. The Rother guide gives an accurate description of it. Its beautiful but really quite demanding and takes about 6-7 hours. Dont underestimate it especially the western route along a dirt track above the sea. There wont be any other hikers ! Dont forget to check out the beautiful old church ... and secure the gates behind you, please.

Circuit sympa, mais la montée au col avant de basculer sur Rodopou est d'une part mal balisée, d'autre part pas agréable à emprunter car il y a beaucoup de pierres, coupantes.
Si je la refait, ce ne sera pas avant 3 ans, mais je ne regrette pas du tout.
