Itinerary description
Train from Boston to Rockport was 1.5 hours. During the weekend you can purchase a $10 ticket and take unlimited rides that entire weekend, and on holiday weekends use it on that holiday.
It was raining so we took a Lyft from the MBTA-Rockport Station to Halibut Point State Park.
The park has self guided trails with very clear signs that are hard to miss.
We followed the sign to Ocean View that offers a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean.
Park closes at dust.
The park has public restrooms but is open until 3p.m. After this time, you may use the restroom located in the parking lot.
After the park we walked approximately 8 minutes to a local restaurant named the Lobster Pool. We ordered the Lobster Roll and the Shrimp plate. Food was ok.
We needed to take the 8pm train to Boston but missed it because our Lyft never arrived. After trying again for another driver, we arrived at the railroad station at 8:10pm and waited over 1.5 hours for the next train at 10pm.
One important thing to note is that it can take a long time to get an Uber or Lyft in Rockport during the evening.
I would have walked those three miles from the Lobster Pool Restaurant back to the Railroad Station but the road was very dark with lots of traffic, plus it was cold and rainy.
