Itinerary description

This is an easy trail through mature forest leading down to a sandstone rock beach overlooking scenic Stewart Channel with a great view across to De Courcy, Ruxton, Pylades & Valdes Islands. The park contains unique sandstone ledges, raised ancient sea beds, part of the geological heritage of Vancouver Island.

During this spring hike wildflowers lined the trail.

A great spot on a sunny day! You can easily combine it with other nearby inland hikes (eg. Hemmer Park or Yellow Point Park).

There is a pit toilet near the ocean end of the trail.

The Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an American Volksports Association rating of 1A.
