Itinerary description
Not sure why Wikiloc says 6.8 miles and ~2100 feet of climbing—gps had 6.25 miles and ~1400 feet of climbing.
Hike was from Riomaggiore train station back to Manarola.
Took the SVA trail out of Riomaggiore until the road (SP 370). Walked on SP 370 for ~200 meters until trail 533 went up the hill off to the right. Followed trail 533 until it intersected with an unpaved road most of the way up the hill. Followed this (flat) unpaved road over to Volastra. Trail 533 is not heavily traveled—we saw no other hikers on the trail
In Volastra, had a wonderful lunch at Trattoria L’Acrobaleno (just past the mini market and the trail down to Manarola). Highly recommend the pesto!
Another option in Volastra (may need to plan ahead and get a reservation) is Locanda Tiabuscion—we couldn’t get in as it was a Sunday and they were fully booked. We were a little disappointed at first as it looked very good but L’Acrobaleno was awesome!
Trail had some very nice overlooks down to Riomaggiore, Manarola and the Cinque Terre Coastline.
