Itinerary description
El río Higuerón corre paralelo al valle del más popular río Chíllar, en la Sierra Almijara.
Aunque el agua parece muy limpia y cristalina, uno no puede confiarse y beber de cualquier curso de agua. Río arriba me encontré con una cabra montesa muerta y descompuesta en mitad del río. Mejor no correr riesgos de contraer giardiosis.
La califico de moderada por la distancia (en realidad fueron algo más de 17 kilómetros) y porque hay un tramo sin agua, no demasiado largo pero con muchas rocas y bastante expuesto al sol.

The Higuerón river runs parallel to the valley of the more popular Chíllar river in the Sierra Almijara.
Although the water looks crystal clear and very clean, that's no reason enough to drink stream water. Upriver I found a dead, decomposing mountain goat in the middle of the stream. It's better not to take any chances of getting Giardia.
I rate the route as moderate because of the distance (it was over 17 kilometres) and because there is a segment (about a kilometer long) without water and with a very rocky terrain out in the sun.
