Itinerary description
Mostly an easy hike, but rock jumping around Rio Esmeralda is a big challenging as you need to cross it several times, hopping rocks over skalding hot water (70C). Won't burn but will hurt if you step in it.
Don't take small kids or pets who cannot jump by themselves. Great place for photo shoots because of the bright emerald green and orange algae in the hot creek. Afterwards hiked on the very easy fire road by Rio Caliente and went in for a hot dip. Lots of interesting geological features including obsidian, piedra pumis, iron ore, intrusions and extrusions, etc.

Fairly easy hike. The road is very clear and its hard to get lost with the river by your side. Beautiful falls, but the water is very hot!
Caminata sencilla. El camino está muy bien delimitado y es complicado perderse cuando el río trascurre al lado del mismo. Las cascadas son hermosas, pero el agua esta hirviendo!

El camino es muy fácil de seguir, ya que sólo discurre a lo largo del río. Un punto es muy frágil y requiere mayor precaución y el riesgo de caída de rocas. No hay problema para los excursionistas experimentados. Los excursionistas no calificados no deben caminar sin ayuda.
