Itinerary description
A loop trail that starts and finishes in San Jose Sur. The first leg is down a path to the river, the last section brings you up the main road back to town. Both of these sections are good but the river section was tough and may be impossible in the rainy season.
Our hike was in the dry season and we needed to cross the river on numerous occasions because of cliffs or large trees blocking our way. You will most likely get your feet wet so wear appropriate shoes. The river section had a 'swampy' smell, lots of small wildlife and a pretty waterfall. We ended the hike sooner than expected and would not recommend this trail to a casual hiker.
