Itinerary description
Departing Luzern, we took the train to Arth-Goldau where we took the scenic cog railway to Rigi Kulm. From the station it's a short walk to the summit of Rigi with panoramic views over Lake Luzern and the surrounding mountains. For the easy hike down to Rigi Kaltbad we took the Kulmweg and Schwändiweg towards Rigi Klösterli. From Rigi Klösterli the Klösterliweg switchbacks down to meet the Scheideggstrasse. Here we stopped for lunch at the Obere First mountain restaurant for traditional a cured meats and cheese platter. The proprietor was very welcoming and hospitable. After lunch we followed the Unterer Firstweg to the Rigi Kaltbad lift to Weggis. From Weggis we took the boat back to Luzern.
