Itinerary description
Most surprising walk I did on Santo Antao because it's not as well known as some, but just as beautiful. The road/trail goes through tiny quiet villages and offers breathtaking views of the coast and green terraced valleys. It's quite steep, both up and down. I might suggest to follow the trail in reverse as there is a section of loose dirt path that would have been safer to go up. Also, there are some trail markings (red arrows and circles) that would be more prominent in the opposite direction. Got a bit off track around km 8.5, the trail goes left, towards the tall tree.

Make sure you're on the real trail here, there are small paths going in between the terraces so it's easy to get sidetracked.
