Itinerary description
A day hike from the bright angel campground near the colorado river. The way to the falls and back is quite long but the height diffrence isn't (~300m) which makes it a very reasonable hike while staying the night at the campground or Phantom ranch. The falls are very nice and colourful and provide a lot of diffrent viewpoints. It is also visible from one section of the trail before arriving. The north kaibab trail which we follow all the way was a bit disappointing for me because there are electricity lines and water pipes installed around it all along. On the way back I climbed to the phantom overlook for some nice views of the Colorado river. This should have been done earlier because I had the sun in my eyes in the afternoon.
