The path is clearly marked, it's 3km to the top and 3 to come back. The way up might be challenging, but is worth the effort,
The road to come here is very simple, from Reykjavík you take the road nº1 and go to Hveragerði.
You go straight throw the city and find the indicativo to Reykjadalur.
Here is a parking lot, but just before it you could park beside the road for free if you want.
