Reserva Bosque Nuboso Santa Elena

Oberta el 1992 per un grup d'estudiants canadencs voluntariats, la Reserva Bosque Nuboso Santa Elena pertany al col·legi Tècnic Professional de Santa Elena. Tots els guanys que s'obtenen s'utilitzen per ajudar els joves de Santa Elena i també en la investigació i desenvolupament de cursos d'educació ambiental, biologia, idiomes i turisme.
Existeixen 4 senders principals a la Reserva Santa Elena:
Sendero Caño Negro (4.8km - 3.5hrs): Aquest és el sender més llarg i va fins a un mirador des d’on en dies clars es poden veure el volcà Arenal i el llac Arenal.
Sendero Encantado (3.4km - 2.5hrs): Sortint de l’estació d’entrada al parc va cap al vessant nord i enllaça amb el sender Caño Negro i Sendero Encantado
Sendero Del Bajo (2.6km - 1.5hrs): Aquest sender enllaça les seccions nord i sud del sender Caño Negro.
Sendero Youth Challenge (1.4km - 45min): És el més proper a l’entrada del parc. Hi ha una torre des de la que en dies clars es poden veure el volcà Arenal i el llac Arenal.

Opened in 1992 by a group of volunteer Canadian students, the Reserva Bosque Nubosos de Santa Elena belongs to the Professional Technical College of Santa Elena. All proceeds are used to help the young people of Santa Elena and also to research and develop environmental education courses, biology, languages and tourism.
There are 4 main trails in the Santa Elena Reserve:
Caño Negro Trail (4.8km - 3.5hrs): This is the longest trail and goes to a viewpoint from where on clear days you can see the Arenal volcano and the Arenal lake.
Sendero Encantado Trail (3.4km - 2.5hrs): Leaving the park’s gate, it goes to the north slope and connects with the Caño Negro trail.
Del Bajo Trail (2.6km - 1.5hrs): This trail links the north and south sections of the Caño Negro trail.
Youth Challenge Trail (1.4km - 45min): It is the closest to the par’s gate. There is a tower from which on clear days you can see the Arenal volcano and the Arenal lake.
