Itinerary description
Stage 6 of the "Ruta en Seco Piedra" GR 221 from Port Sóller to Tossals Vert. From the refugio this track leads down into Port Sóller and to the tram station where we hop aboard to get a lift to Sóller. This reduces the walking time to about 8 hours. From Sóller we make our way to Biniaraix where we rejoin the GR221 proper to ascend the "pilgrim's steps". 2 hours of stone step climbing lead to the head of the valley before a further ascent takes you up to a col where you can look down on the Embalse de Cuber. Te path drops down to the lakeside and skirts the shore then follows a concrete canal along a hillside above the Embalse Gorg Blau. The path crosses the concrete canal and heads into woodland to follow the slopes of Tossals Verd passing the Viaduct Caneleta before some wonderful views towards Inca and then the welcome descent to the Refugio.
