Itinerary description
Short trail through native forest and lava rocks to the ruin of Shangri-La refuge.
The Shangri-La Valley is lying in the Biosphere reserve Nevados de Chillán. Along the way you will see lichens on the trunks of the trees, which are indicators of very pure air.
The path is well marked and not steep. It is an easy trek of 2-3 hours. In September there was still plenty of snow but snowshoes were not necessary. Walking sticks can be helpful to walk in the snow.
You can let the car on the side of the road near Shangrila Ecoparque.
Remember to take your litter back and only let your footprints in the snow.
