Itinerary description
Starting at the hotel El Refugio de Juanar, which turned out to be a good place to stop for coffee initially and get Wifi.
The road away from the general direction one drives in on, ascends & after 10 to 15 mins, you arrive at a gate preventing cars from travelling further.
A track takes you further up, keep right & then left & after another 20 to 30 mins, the track turns into a path.
The way up is steady & easy on foot mostly.
Views towards Marbella & the sea are superb.
After an hour plus & a couple of steep traverses assisted by chains attached to the rock face, eventually you come to a point where (finally) you can see La Concha.
One needs to cross a ridge, assisted once again by some chains attached to the rock face, climb to the peak &, if you like, cross over to La Mirador de la Concha to get the best panoramic views of the coast & the mountains.
All in all, this is a great walk.
Not sure if there is a circular version but, if so, it will be a lot longer.
Returning to the hotel, Refugio de Juanar, we stopped for food & drinks served by friendly staff in beautiful surroundings.
This is a little oasis of peace & tranquility close to the city & Marbella.
